@RaidersBeat I find it comical the NFL uses a former head of officiating to talk about replays during games. Rarely if ever does he go against the normal crew, no matter how obvious the shitty call was.

@RaidersBeat There were 6 minorities that held Head Coach jobs in the NFL prior to Rooney Rule. The Raiders hired 2 of those in Tom Flores and Art Shell. The rule states you must interview at least 1 minority candidate. Oakland interviewed 2, case closed! This whole story is a JOKE!

@garymo2007 @ProFootballTalk I think the rule has opened the door for many minority coaches and GM’s. I hate when stories come out as if something was done wrong by an organization. The whole issue came about because Gruden was a big name and ESPN wanted to be first reporting it before it was official.

@AParrish1990 @ProFootballTalk Interviewing a candidate doesn’t mean you can’t have the guy you really want in mind. All of this was caused by rushing to break the Gruden story before it was official. It’s all about being first with the media. ESPN knew Oakland wanted Gruden, nothing was Official until Monday.

@AParrish1990 @ProFootballTalk They have to interview a minority candidate, which they did. They don’t have to entertain anything past that. Gruden was the guy they wanted, they got him. I knew about the TE coach Bobby Johnson interview on Saturday and posted it. Only reason it’s a story is it’s Gruden.

@garymo2007 @ProFootballTalk The whole thing is crazy stupid, Mckenzie interviewed Bobby Johnson the TE coach who is coaching the west in the senior bowl. I posted that to these clowns over the weekend, Rooney rule was followed. This is only news because Everyone knew we were hiring Gruden.

@grmraider @MsAutumnWind CBA caused this whole issue, players don’t have to practice nearly as hard due to the CBA rules. On top of that, they also want to reduce preseason, which would create even more issues on developing young players.

@AndrewSiciliano Yep, because the chiefs will use that game plan in 9 months against the Raiders, and Jon Gruden will know all of their plays.......smh How is this even news. Teams change game plans every single game. Jon has met with other teams and coaches, practices, etc. for almost 9 years!!

@RaidersBeat The rule itself causes the problem. No minority coach or GM has ever been hired because of the Rooney rule, they were hired based on the team wants and needs for those positions. If an owner has a candidate in mind, a forced interview will never change that.

@JReidESPN If you are forced to interview candidates you are not going to consider for the job, isn't the rule creating the issue in the first place. When minority coaches or GM's are hired it is never because a rule is in place, it is because the team wants that candidate in that position.
