My favorite part of convocation is the wonderful reminder that @Coppellisd really is one big family. I love seeing all of my people from across the district! #CISDMissionPossible
@AMintonCISD A3: Learners are empowered to solve their problems by using I Statements and 4 step apologies. This allows learners to effectively express their emotions and restore relationships independently.
@AMintonCISD A1: Starting the day with a consistent and predictable routine is so important to me! When my learners come in the classroom in the morning they greet me, put away their backpacks, set down their iPads and water bottles at a seat, and complete their daily check in.
@AMintonCISD A3: I enjoy creating a treatment agreement with my class and using it to notice when learners are showing the qualities we agreed to as well as referring back to it when learners are not following it.
@AMintonCISD A2: Rewards affirm the idea that by simply doing the right thing we get a prize. They do not reinforce expectations or the fact that behaviors affect others. Instead, we should model correct and incorrect behaviors and talk about how behaviors affect others.
@AMintonCISD A1: Many misbehaviors occur as children are learning the boundaries of their environment. By responding calmly and using these moments as teaching opportunities, children are more likely to understand why it was wrong and learn from them.
@KamalaHarris This fourth grader is bound and determined to be the first woman president, and you are her idol! Here is an expository piece she wrote about how she admires you.
My learners were beyond excited when they found the last orange house coyote today! They wanted to take a photo of their own to prove we found all 6! @CRECoyotes
