My girlfriend teachs in NYC. She just read this and said is was fabulous. Another one(older book) "The White Teacher" is also very good. It is about a white teacher teaching in a mixed culture school and how she overcame some of her ways of thinking.☺

Very interesting read. "Essentials of Assessing, Preventing, and Overcoming Reading Difficulties" by David A. Kilpatrick. He has compiled useful research for assessing reading difficulties and designing interventions. His belief is "Orthographic Mapping" is the "Holy Grail"
