#OTD: Fifty-nine years ago, Israel agreed to a ceasefire ending the #SixDayWar.
#PresidentJohnson received a message from Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin threatening military action if Israel did not halt operations. LBJ assured him that the US had received assurances from Israel.
#OnThisDay: In 1967, during the ongoing #SixDayWar, the American ship #USSLiberty was attacked by Israeli forces in international waters off the Sinai coast.
