Really clear and helpful paper describing how to organise multidisciplinary care for people with FND. FND is core health service business - one of the commonest causes of physical disability - not an optional ‘add on’
Delighted to share our new paper "Developing a multidisciplinary pathway for functional neurological disorders in a UK National Health Service: The Exeter model" - a collaboration between @DPT_NHS and @RoyalDevonNHS published in @ACNRjournal 🧵

Lets hope this helps to make the frames more readily available for people with progressive MS.
The calf complex is so important for shock absorption and propulsion in running.......some studies report them needing to tolerate 2.5-8 times bodyweight. Try this home regime for 8-12 reps 2-3 times, 2-3 times per week. If easy, add some resistance via rucksacks, dumb bells etc
@NHSImprovement @RMayNurseDir Fantastic! So is the government going to re-introduce the NHS bursaries for nurses and AHPs?
Investing in training a workforce for the health of the nation seems such a fundamental value!
Another batch of used inhalers sent for recycling. There is absolutely no need for these to go to landfill. Inhalers are made of high quality plastics and aluminium. Please keep returning these to the pharmacy, we really appreciate it. Please share this important message😊📿
Anyone recommend an off the shelf #orthotic for #stroke patient needing help with ankle DF and some propulsion who wants to get back to running/football? Generally weak not tight. Cheers!
Passionate discussion on @theJeremyVine about elderly people left on the floor up to 8 hours, often in severe pain due to strapped resources in ambulance services. How do we managed the increasing pressure?
@physioralph@AvrilDrummond1@Stroketattler@AVERTtrial Unfortunately, some use the word as a way out and to discharge.
Personally, I've stopped using the word and try an explain +ve & -ve plasticity, plus ongoing hard work required to produces changes over time.
@sportsdrzaf You've turned your despair into a massive positive, helped many people on the way and continue to keep our red n blue boys happy and healthy! She would've been very proud, I'm sure.
@jaffaparks The trouble is, so often, in the NHS that essential part of OT has been lost. Squashed by discharge planning and equipment in aim to ramp up that "patient conveyor belt". We've always known how shortsighted it was.
