@ashleymarie1985 No, we’re staying at condo we rented through Vrbo last year. It’s way up on the north end of OC, but right on the beach and so nice and quiet. We just drive down and park in one of the daily lots each day.
@fox5dc@stevechenevey fun fact, the bears in Tahoe don’t really hibernate because since the area is so populated by humans, they have year round access to food sources from places like trash cans, etc. It’s not uncommon to see them all times of the year there! 😌
The hypocrisy of saying ‘don’t make it personal’ after you did exactly that is mind blowing, without any self awareness & disingenuous at best. Riley & many like her, including myself with 50yrs in Olympic sport & an Olympic medal have been saying for years now you cannot have fairness for female athletes of any level or age, if you include males. Males, no matter how they identify, have never ever been excluded from sport, so already included with other if male anatomy. What they want is an unfair & often dangerous advantage. This does not go both ways. Us women get just 4% of the world dollar in sport. We have a tiny slice of the media & money cake. Yet now we are supposed to be happy being the second choice in our owns sports category. We are not a support structure for males with gender dysphoria - who think or want to be, something they are not. In Sport we use our bodies, not our feelings. Women & girls are as worthy of their own safe but most important fair sport as men. We are worthy of our own category. All you need to know is that though 5x as many young girls struggle with identity & regift as trans it’s only boys & men who ID as women stealing opportunies they do not deserve. The trans rights movement is a patriarchy putting women well & truly back in second place!
@Simone_Biles@Riley_Gaines_ This is really disappointing. Body shaming a fellow female athlete is so low and not what I want two gymnast daughters looking up to.
It should be noted, you would have half as many named skills right now if male athletes were competing against you. Men have done them for years.
@Timcast Even on the Supreme Court, it takes 5 judges to override the President's authority.
1 out of 700 circuit court judges cannot unilaterally seize control of the Executive Branch. That is not how this works. If it was, we wouldn't have a republic.
@DefiantLs Canada is acting like a best friend that's been sleeping on the couch for a hundred years and eating all our food and when we ask when they are gonna get a job and move out they get mad at us.
.@ScottJenningsKY: "All Zelenskyy had to do today was put on a tie, show up, smile, say thank you, sign the papers, and have lunch. That's it — and he couldn't do that."
The Washington Post's Josh Rogin: "I actually agree."
You cut fire prevention; LA burned. You spent $24 billion on homelessness; it rose 40%. You reduced penalties for violent crime; it's 31% higher in California than in the US as a whole. And instead of taking responsibility, you're trying to become an influencer. It's pathetic.
Allie, regardless of what they are claiming to be their motives, none of that changes their actions which are not supported by their claims. If President Trump were at the match, or was somehow announced, and the people booed, then fair play. That’s them showing their dissatisfaction with him and his governance.
But the fact is, he wasn’t there. Our athletes and fans WERE. And the only thing being announced was our national anthem. Which was booed, in their presence. That was an incredible display of pettiness, and anyone arguing this point is being intellectually dishonest. And it must be especially hard for some to acknowledge because it actually had the opposite effect of what they’d hoped. It lit a fire under our players that allowed them to dominate the match. Karma. Period.
And one last thought, as I’ve been pondering on it all, is this: would you ever go to a little league baseball game and boo the kids playing cuz you think their parents are assholes? Some parents are. And you have every right to express your anger or frustration with them in healthy, adult ways, but you’d NEVER take that out on the kids. But we go to a pro match, with pro players, have a couple drinks, and all of a sudden that gives us the right to shit on “the kids” for their “parents” behavior.
If they truly were trying to criticize the current US Administration, and not all of us Americans along with it, this was one the single worst ways to do it.
Very true!
Many times, the @DOGE team has found excellent people at the working level in government who want to do the right thing, but have been prevented from doing so by prior management.
Treasury is a great example.
If we just empower them to make the sensible decisions they’ve always wanted to make, the reduction in fraud & waste would be massive!
Moreover, we should REWARD those in government who do the right thing for the American people as a whole!
My grandfather passed away in the mid-80’s. His SS# was stolen in the early 90’s because my grandmother got a letter from SS# stating that his Social Security Payments have resumed under a Hispanic name (illegal alien).
She called & SS# stated nothing could be done because his SS# was reassigned to the illegal alien.
He would be 101 if alive today and I checked a couple years ago and they are still drawing his Social Security.
There is literally no part of this that amounts to a constitutional crisis
Not even close
The fact that you guys keep calling it that makes me wonder what country’s constitution you’re reading, thinking that it’s ours
Massachusetts just approved another $425 million to continue sheltering illegal immigrants
So we went to Boston to find out what illegals are still being offered.
City workers assured us that “police don’t work with the Feds” & then offered free housing:
This 'why do you care about a tiny fraction of the population?' line is, and always was, utterly ridiculous.
Gender ideology has undermined freedom of speech, scientific truth, gay rights, and women's and girls' safety, privacy and dignity. It's also caused irreparable physical damage to vulnerable kids.
Nobody voted for it, the vast majority of people disagree with it, yet it has been imposed, top down, by politicians, healthcare bodies, academia, sections of the media, celebrities and even the police. Its activists have threatened and enacted violence on those who've dared oppose it. People have been defamed and discriminated against for questioning it. Jobs have been lost and lives have been ruined, all for the crime of knowing that sex is real and matters.
When the smoke clears, it will be only too evident that this was never about a so-called vulnerable minority, notwithstanding the fact that some very vulnerable people have been harmed. The power dynamics underpinning our society have been reinforced, not dismantled. The loudest voices throughout this entire fiasco have been people insulated from consequences by their wealth and/or status. They aren't likely to find themselves locked in a prison cell with a 6'4" rapist who's decided his name's now Dolores. They don't need state-funded rape crisis centres, nor do they ever frequent high street changing rooms. They simper from talk show sofas about those nasty far-right bigots who don't want penises swinging around the girls' showers, secure in the knowledge that their private pool remains the safe place it always was.
Those who've benefited most from gender identity ideology are men, both trans-identified and not. Some have been rewarded for having a cross-dressing kink by access to all spaces previously reserved for women. Others have parlayed their delicious new victim status into an excuse to threaten, assault and harass women. Non-trans-identified leftybros have found a magnificent platform from which to display their own impeccably progressive credentials, by jeering and sneering at the needs of women and girls, all while patting themselves on the back for giving away rights that aren't theirs.
The actual victims in this mess have been women and children, especially the most vulnerable, gay people who've resisted the movement and paid a horrible price, and regular people working in environments where one misplaced pronoun could see you vilified or constructively dismissed. Do not tell me this is about a tiny minority. This movement has impacted society in disastrous ways, and if you had any sense, you'd be quietly deleting every trace of activist mantras, ad hominem attacks, false equivalence and circular arguments from your X feeds, because the day is fast approaching when you'll want to pretend you always saw through the craziness and never believed it for a second.
