Graphic novels could also be a great source to help students who are also visual learners. Graphic novels can act out and constantly give examples for what is needed to be learned. Ex: shading in art...seeing a character draw it out in the book helps understanding. #kedleyclass

When reading a graphic novel for text in art, it is a lot less intimating than when directed to read a chapter with walls of text in a textbook. Students will feel more motivated to read a graphic novel, and have more fun! #kedleyclass

I agree with Nikole Hannah, 1619 is just as 1776. The point she makes about the words in the declaration is riveting. Schools need to include this in history and educate the real past of America rather than only talk about the good. #kedleyclass

The 1619 project is a great article that snaps America back into reality. This country is built from slavery, and unfortunately, ideas that were made up to justify slavery are still believed by many today. Most Americans still do not know the full story of slavery. #kedleyclass
