@FairMinistry @lucyfrazermp @gregwrightYP@keithmgordon Reading between the lines they already knew #LoanCharge should never have applied to users of schemes.
An injustice to innocent users who did no wrong!
I am truly ashamed of the Government allowing this to happen.
50K face life changing bills. 8 died!
@loanchargeAPPG
and “at the minimum it should set out something that that can reasonably be described as an independent review, but that minimises the spending/legislative/other risks that a review creates”.
This cannot possibly be described as independent.
A new #LoanCharge review is needed.
According to FOI: HMRC's Carol Bristow was against a review into the role of promoters in avoidance, as that could have benefited the victims involved⁉️🤯 #LoanCharge Seriously, @lucyfrazermp, what else do you need to see to stop this abomination? @gregwrightYP@keithmgordon
I've been invited by @BBCRadio4 to speak on the @Moneybox programme about our #LoanCharge settlement proposal this Saturday (22 Jan) between 11.50 and 12.30. Do please tune in if you can.
A link showing the suggestion put to @RishiSunak proposing a resolution of the loan charge "debacle"
is now on the @taxation website.
If he has ambitions on moving to no.10, this might be a good way of showing compassion and common sense.

HMRC really need to have a policy on how they deal with the victims of fraud - because the currently policy of - send them threatening letters demanding money - can't really be right in my view.
So #Tory peer Mone’s husband runs AML/Knox, @lucyfrazermp husband runs Alexander Mann Solutions, and Mel Stride’s family company sells tax investigation insurance.
What else is going to come out of the woodwork…#LoanCharge
Thanks @helenhayes_ the 146th Parliamentarian to sign the open letter to the PM & Chancellor urging a resolution to the #LoanChargeScandal. FOI revelations are exposing the reality of the #LoanCharge. We need a #NewLoanChargeReview & a fair resolution.

"Time and time again the government has been warned of the serious mental health impact the loan charge is having on people. The loan charge is not fair, and it will lead to thousands of people facing bankruptcy." -@EdwardJDavey

The @loanchargeAPPG has called on ministers to "urgently think again" on the loan charge after it was revealed that eight cases of suicide have been linked to demands for payments. Co-chair Greg Smith said retrospective tax changes "are simply never fair".
@darrengrimes@GBNEWS MPs are being asked to support #LoanChargeScandal victims by voting AYE for #NC7 resolution at the Finance Bill debate on Wednesday
This calls for a new (and this time INDEPENDENT!) review
Last time will of many MPs for a proper debate & vote was ignored
An important story!
Someone, somewhere, in HMRC was ultimately responsible for pulling the trigger on the #LoanChargeScandal , the result being, so far, 8 deaths. Unless this injustice is fixed, there will be more. Why is Morse silent?
This is shocking to read. A new approach to the loan charge is urgently needed. In this Wednesday's Finance Bill debate, we will be urging Rishi Sunak to commission an independent review into HMRC's approach.
Yet again Treasury Ministers act as HMRC mouthpiece with discredited & contradictory answers on prosecutions of #LoanCharge promoters. Thank you @libdemdaisy & previously @OwenThompson for questions.
@lucyfrazermp please take time to understand issues.

Compare and contrast today to #LoanChargeScandal. Loan charge victims were doing 70 on the motorway, and the limit got retrospectively changed to 60 and everyone got fined. Here Paterson was doing 90 on the motorway and the limit was upped to 100 just to accommodate him. Fair?
