Thread: I didn’t go to Harvard. I didn’t go to Columbia J School. I went to Brooklyn College which is a great city school but maybe not what many think it takes to get into the building on 620 8th Avenue. The New York Times building. I didn’t grow up rich. I grew up in the hood.
1/THREAD: Our latest in a series on womanhood amid Venezuela’s crisis examines how an absence of birth control has radically changed women's lives. https://t.co/ZvzXao72hH

My main handoff as I left my job last year was a presentation on mentorship. Here’s what I said.
Hoping this might help people who aspire to management - especially senior or executive level - to think more about their roles as mentors.

NEWS - Investigation by the NYT team looking at Trump's finances. "Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750." https://t.co/n1lHxhixN9
“Women only increase in power after 35. I said it and I meant it. That’s when our X-Men qualities really start to shine. Professionally, financially, personally, mentally, we’re not approaching or past a peak, we’re finally understanding…” — @shanisilver https://t.co/eugI09cN5t
Really important conversation here & worth taking the time to watch @itskelseybutler's recent QuickTake as well. The "pick one" idea has been pushed on bi-racial people (myself included) for so long & we shouldn't have to deny part of who we are for convenience.
My trolls have recently been qwhite active in my DMs asking me to "pick one" being one -- being Black or Latina.
Let's talk about why that's a no. I doubt they'll listen, but maybe someone else will learn something on this wretched bird app. 1/?
