Enjoyed Art on the Square in Belleville IL this morning amazed by the photography and art on display. I originally started my education as an art major in drawing and photography for a few years before switching over to biology and chemistry. Makes me want to take photos again.

What Is Life by Paul Nurse is a look at five ideas in biology: The cell, the gene, evolution in natural selection, life as chemistry, and life as information. A perfect book to give to anyone who wants to know more about biology and how it shapes our lives. π§¬π§«π§ͺπ¬

Fun library book find. World of Wonders by Aimee Nezhukumatathil is a collection of essays from her childhood, stories of her family, and her life in academia. She reminds us the natural world and the wonders it inspires can help offer escape in a stressful world.
Had to cut this pumpkin off the vine due to squash bug infestation. I tried my best to control them but they were starting to hang out and chew on the pumpkin. Planning to try again next year and hopefully grow more.
Baby succulents. Started them from seed late spring and still growing strong. Had to transplant them to a bigger pot. Now planning what to do with over 30 succulents π .
The Botanical Collection by Lego is such a fantastic idea and looking forward to building more. The green bricks in this set are made from sugarcanes! Part of new project by Lego to use plant based or sustainable sources by 2030. Took me all night to build!
@DrCornQueen 88.7 The Sound is great Jazz and Blues station based out of the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Also on the AM dial search for 880 AM La Tremenda which is the local Hispanic radio station.
I enjoy trying out unique planting kits. Found this Garden-In-A-Pouch product and I am not disappointed. I might have to purchase more for a pouch garden in the kitchen. π
What I originally connected using a temp/humidity sensor, light sensors, and LCD screen with an Arduino compared to the compact design of the Enviro that does the same thing plus more on a single board. Raspberry Pi Zero in each image for size comparison. π€―
Picked up the Enviro - Indoor Monitor by @pimoroni . This combines temperature, humidity, light, and air pressure with an LCD mini panel to display output. I would have to purchase each sensor separate and wire together. Saves so much time when building projects!
Always happy to see people supporting local libraries. They offer more than just books. Movies, music, magazine, video games, e-books, audio books, computer access, and some offer 3D printing capabilities! It is a very valuable and much needed resource for a community.
If anyone had a right to question whether our democracy was worth redeeming, it was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Because in the face of billy clubs and lynchings, poll taxes and literacy tests, he never gave in to violence, never waved a traitorous flag or gave up on our country.
Excellent choice! Gabriela has been instrumental in helping us to shape @Visionstlouis, @StlEquity and @STEMSTL. Looking forward to continuing these partnerships and building new ones.
In case you missed it live, you can watch the recording of "An introduction to image analysis workflows with @plantcv " ‡οΈβ€΅οΈβ€΅οΈ
