Dr. Malia Gehan is a Principal Investigator at @DanforthCenter, who focuses on improving resistance to temperature stress. @maliagehan, with @NoahFahlgren, maintains @PlantCV, a suite of high-throughput phenotyping tools. Apply now to attend the #scPlantGRC2023.
We are happy to share our latest publication in the Journal Applications in Plant Sciences🤩

RasberryPi/PlantCV based protocol for phenotyping for side view image process - guide on how we run our analysis for cowpea, tomato and tepary beans https://t.co/lgAmpEXqkr
Last week Dr. Keith Slotkin @Slotkin_Lab participated in a Congressional Press Briefing to discuss how @NSF-funded research is supporting the future of farming. Slotkin discussed his research that explores the impact of carbon dioxide on crops and the people that plant them.
From detecting cracks in cement to plant phenotypes @plantcv modules are robust for many different image analyses. Nice talk from @maliagehan #NAPPN22#NAPPN2022
Using images and some tools from @plantcv for collecting morphology data on annual bluegrass, an invasive weed found on every continent including Antarctica. Working with @HeyOsburn and his research at @AggieTurf on this one.
We close #GCB2021 today with a great keynote by @maliagehan on utilizing natural variation and high-throughput #phenotyping with @plantcv for #crop improvement.

Our aim is to grow the set of examples in the tutorial gallery with example workflows from users. We will have more information on this later, including documentation on how to contribute, but feel free to reach out if you are interested
In addition to some new visualization tools and other new methods, we want to highlight the new tutorial gallery: https://t.co/Irgi8LcpAy. The gallery features filterable tutorial "cards" that help you find an example relevant to your data
Automated high resolution duckweed imaging using a Zeiss Axio Zoom and @plantcv! Led by @K_Bioguy_Cox @plantbiojordan @AdvBioimaging Blake Meyers and our lab. Amazing little plants with big potential for food, fuel, bioproducts and phytoremediation.

@I_P_P_N workshop ends the day after super nice hands on by Mathis Cordier, Salma Samiei et Geoffroy Couasnet @ImHorPhen@UnivAngers. With how to process time lapse in @plantcv and Perform ML with @ilastik_team.
@Amit_Kumar_PhD Options are good, but I don't get R-based image analysis, it's just not the right tool and spreads the community thin when there's already great scripting tools like @plantcv for Python. I would definitely point people towards PlantCV wanting to do this. No offense to Tiago!
Some projects feel like they refuse to end but happy to say the de novo homology workflow we’ve been working on for @plantcv is basically finished and the preprint is up! Now to go and ask the questions I built the tool for... https://t.co/R3paNDQNBC
