Buell Lab Undergrad Researcher Allie Gordon presented her work this semester at the @UGA_CollegeofAg Research Symposium today!
Allie was a huge aide in optimizing nuclei isolations from various plant species/tissues for the end goal of inputting into single cell experiments
Excited to see this work on Peruvian Algarrobo (Neltuma pallida) that we collaborated on published in G3!
https://t.co/GZWVFScIMR
N. pallida is threatened in it's native area and we hope that this work will ultimately serve as a launch point for conservation efforts
Our paper (@TheBuellLab@OConnor_lab) on the regulation of vinca alkaloid biosynthesis at cell type resolution is published at @NewPhyt! It is my 2nd paper using single cell techniques to study the genomics & regulation of plant specialized metabolism: https://t.co/pLBgMuuWjQ 1/2
Excited to see our new paper on single cell multi-ome analysis in Catharanthus roseus led by @ChenxinLi2 out in @NewPhyt . Great collaboration with @OConnor_lab and team effort by @TheBuellLab. https://t.co/Gr6fliWJL1
The UGA Integrated Plant Science Graduate Program is accepting applications for 2025. Cohorts can enroll in 1 of 9 degree programs, perform research with one of 80 faculty, collaborate across disciplines & campuses, & participate in Plant Center events. https://t.co/iri8sufq1x
Our paper on Chia has been published in @plantgenome! We assembled the genome of Chia pinta, assessed population structure, and also examined terpene synthase composition between Chia pinta and Chia negra. https://t.co/DqTqPgwnUm
Teaching @nanopore sequencing @CSHL this week for the Frontiers and Techniques in Plant Sciences Course! Students were super excited to get hands on with dummy flowcells provided by ONT to practice handling, priming and loading. Huge thanks to ONT for helping make this possible!
Two Buell Lab Grad students (Anne Frances Jarrell and Anita Giabardo) win poster competition at the UGA IPBGG retreat!! Exiting work on wild potato and poplar xylem! @UGA_CollegeofAg@PlantCenterUGA@PBGGatUGA
Our paper on volatile biosynthesis in cat thyme has been published in @ThePlantJournal. The @LichmanLab had an amazing collab with @TheBuellLab. @sefayten assembled a chromosome-scale genome that allowed us to discover how cat thyme makes diverse iridoids. https://t.co/sjoUFg0OCb
First semester at @vtspes in the books! So impressed by all the hard work put in by the lab this year and taking this huge life change in stride. Can’t wait for 2024! @Beans2Stress@GuillianHC_, Collin and Ishveen.
