If you think Apple is a company that sits back when someone is actively stealing its intellectual property, you can’t be more wrong. Look at the 2011 patent war with Samsung, and the ongoing one with OpenAI. Sure these companies sabotaged their brand by copying but that’s not the reason Apple is not suing

"small group" is crazy. I know Apple's business is strong in China and I like that. And I also hate those companies that just copy and get away with it. You don't have to like the fact that nationalism in China is preventing Apple from suing those companies. But facts are facts. If Apple starts suing Huawei, iPhone sales will almost certainly drop A LOT and what's worse is, if the Chinese gov steps in (by, for instance, cutting off manufacturing capacity), Apple will be in big trouble

Bought a MacBook Neo for $550 (after tax) with education savings 3 months ago and today sold it on FB Marketplace for $590. Buying a Mac feels like buying stocks these days.

That’s a different issue. Huawei was growing really fast before the chip ban. And Apple has shielded it from nationalist accusations because there’s the narrative that Apple shaped and helped China’s high tech manufacturing industry and is consistently providing jobs and investments. Apple and Chinese gov have grown very dependent on each other actually. But still sometimes there is heated discussion on Chinese social media about whether people should support the country by not purchasing iPhones… When Apple Jing’an opened in Shanghai last year there is a big conflict between nationalists and Apple fans outside of the store.

@pjsercel @AnxiousHolly Then why do you think Apple never sues these Chinese companies? I grew up in China trust me I know how the nationalists associate their entire self esteem w Huawei and if anyone hurts it in any way both the people and gov will take actions

Most people do not understand iPhone Air. It’s more than a beautifully simple phone. It’s a proof of concept for polished titanium, an ultra-thin body, and a complete redesign of iPhone’s internals to enable the exciting products ahead: including but not limited to foldable iPhone and the 20th anniversary iPhone, which are both rumored to share iPhone Air’s texture—ultra premium. It might be niche today, but it’ll soon be mainstream.

@jammasternate @Microsoft @Apple The Archive tour person told me they try to keep the artifacts that carry meanings to the company. They also keep recordings of events, software boxes, newspaper with msft on it etc.
