Retweet if you're voting for Democrats up and down the ballot to stop Trump and his spineless party. Let's show them how many of us there are. #BlueWaveIn30Days
Cornell had a town hall of sorts on campus tonight. In solidarity, a lot of students are calling for the president to step down.
I see a lot of my fellow alums saying, don’t just blame Cornell, it’s not only us. I think everyone knows that this is a crisis on every college campus. But if our school can be the ground zero for change, that would be a good thing.
As a very involved alum, I am a longtime member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women and Cornell University Council, I am ashamed of our university, and every alum should be as well. 35% of our undergraduate women have experienced sexual assault, up from 23% two years ago. Out of more than 1,200 cases that were brought to our college, less than a dozen resulted in expulsions. That is not acceptable in any way. There is nothing to be proud of here, except the possibility that our students will take the lead in bringing change.
How do you defeat a president who’s trying to sabotage the midterms?
1. Use drop boxes.
2. Vote EARLY in person.
3. If mailing in your ballot, put it in the mail AT LEAST two weeks before Election Day.
4. Vote in person on Election Day.
5. Share these instructions with everyone you know.
Everyone is asking why Mini went back. But please look at the other side too. 💔
Mini arrived as skin and bones with tiny babies. For over two months, we fed them, treated them, ran blood tests, helped her regain her health, spayed her—and only then did she go home.
And perhaps this is actually the best possible ending: Mini is healthy, her cycle of pregnancies has ended, she lives within walking distance of our shelter, and we can continue keeping an eye on her. Her recovery also frees precious space for the next desperate animal waiting at our door.
But there is something I desperately need you to understand.
This post has been seen by nearly 2,000 people, yet it brought us not even one new follower. Only a small fraction shared it.
If we cannot grow our helping hands, how could I have kept Mini? How do I pay for the next Mini, and the next litter waiting tomorrow? What you see online is only a tiny fraction of the animals arriving every day.
Please don't only ask us to save and keep more. Help make it possible.
