@okhomenko It was a better coder till GPT 5.5. Now they are on par IMO, but each have its own quirks. Codex sucks on creative tasks - even if it figures out the strategy was wrong, it will continue. CC sucks at finishing tasks - it says "done" randomly.
I've tried ChatGPT 5 for code generation, using the same complex prompt I use for other chat LLMs. And the results are more or less on par with their older GPT O1 and Gemini 2.5 Pro, maybe the code is marginally cleaner. So far Claude (both Opus and Sonnet) is the best for me
@yurevich Сколько я помню, они тупо хотели чтобы их ещё раз Apple в featured apps внёс и ради этого решили разделить. Одно из худших решений в истори продакт менеджмента.
In grocery stores, some prices are per LB, while others are per 100g or per 1Kg. Cooking instructions could use both cups/tbsp or grams. Soda water and gas are measured in ml, but an orange juice in gallons. And US gallon is not equal to Canadian gallon.
One of the most confusing things about living in Canada is measurement units: you have to operate both metric and imperial systems.
Air Conditioners use Celsius, while ovens use Fahrenheit. Your height in driver's license is in cm, but in clothing store - feet and inches.
I'm very fascinated by the Pongo (https://t.co/vQRY6n0csu) and the FerretDB (https://t.co/rTkYQJdXnF) projects. That let you work with a mongo-compatible document database, but use Postgres under the hood as a storage engine.
I've heard a new dev BS excuse today - "dependency injection is complicated and only large projects need it", that was in the context of Go. Yeah-yeah, that's like "we have no time to write unit tests".
I don't play F2P mobile games, don't need a subscription for online courses or meal kits, don't need another VPN. I don't care about left vs right bias on major news sites or about the data brokers having my PII data. And those are 90% of paid promos on YouTube.
I consume most YouTube videos in an audio-only mode... and would like to switch more to Podcasts instead. Simply because podcasts have less useless ads, and "please like and subscribe" self-promotion sections.
@leopard_me Just tried it... and uninstalled it 10 minutes later. I thought it was impossible to make a UI worse than Obsidian, but Simplenote showed it is possible! ;)
Could you recommend a cross-platform note-taking app, that works offline on mobile? With the Markdown support or at least rich text formatting. I've used Obsidian, Inkdrop, Joplin, OneNote, Evernote - they all suck, but in different ways.
