We are Stephanie Just and Jackie Griffin- Language Development Coaches who support Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students through a co-teaching model.
I created coach's playlists to give coaches a one-page doc with the most important info on topics like questioning, listening, checklists, goals, playbooks, and so on. Here's a link to all of them https://t.co/zkytuD26hv
Chapter 4 delves into data analysis and backward planning while considering a variety of assessments for concept mastery. A 🔑 chapter for us as we use the MTSS framework to support MLs (and all learners!) Love the TTQA & SWIRL considerations & tech overlay! @LDCs4CLDs ✨🙌
Our principal and AP have modeled that from the beginning. It’s easy to work all hours while at home, but we can’t! We have a conversation, that goes in our partnership agreement, about how we can take care of ourselves. @THBoogren sure helped us with that this year! #CoTeachat
@alycia_owen Totally agree about the conversations about student engagement! It’s the #1 thing Ts talk about. As a coach, we start with thinking about how we did it in the regular classroom then make adjustments to the remote setting. It ends up being pretty similar
A2: i also love how available people are all the time by the click of a button. I can connect with people across the district easily now without having to drive over or set up a half day meeting. We all have each other’s zoom links, too. #lovezoom#Coteachat
A3: Its nice that none of us have done this before, so we are all learning together. Everyone is wanting to bounce ideas off each other and try new things. It’s scary and exhausting, but amazing! #Coteachat
A2: Im not sure that this actually happened a lot before, but now we are very conscious of letting everyone have a chance to contribute to the conversation. We are so conscious of hearing all voices. We are utilizing the tools available ie breakout rooms and the chat. #Coteachat
A1: we started off the year by making a partnership agreement that includes how we would function as a collaborative team during this unusual school year. This was after an “all hands on deck” during the first week of remote teaching! #coteachat
Numbered heads together is a great structure to practice in the “you do together” part of gradual release. SO many great thoughts and conversations around multiplying fractions that came from each other, not the teacher. #inspire96#coteaching#kagan#studentslead
All record round robin in a 5th grade class. They were brainstorming ways that a character showed he was a great dad. @KaganOnline@JENEVANSatKAGAN#inspire96
5th grade students teaching the class about intro paragrahs. students did a think aloud to show how they came up with their information and where they found the info. Students shared what they would like to try in their own writing. #studentslead#inspire96@CMCubs96
