@AGeorgeMichael @ROBFORD99 @cpeck3 You are merely paying your federal income tax which goes toward ensuring ALL Canadians receive the same basic level of federal goods and services. It’s called being a country.
@ROBFORD99 @cpeck3 I’ll leave you with this. When I was stationed in Dartmouth in the 80s I had folks tell me that those darn farmers out west were always whining and getting handouts, govt bought rail cars, grain subsidy cheques, fuel subsidies etc.
@ROBFORD99 @cpeck3 There is very little in the way of economic opportunity in the Maritimes. Plenty have come west to work. Some stay some take the money and run. I’m not prepared to condemn all as EI bums. We have those here as well.
@ROBFORD99 @cpeck3 They have a higher GDP than AB but also a much higher population. We received equalization in 2020 when oil crashed. We may need it again in the future. It’s Canadians helping Canadians.
@ROBFORD99 @cpeck3 Some provinces are more fortunate than others. Where would AB be without O&G? Same with Sask and potash. Quebec has issues and they are paying for them (high taxes) but remember they aren’t the only prov getting equalization they just have the biggest pop so get the most.
@ROBFORD99 @cpeck3 Have you read what equalization is meant to do? It’s meant to ensure ALL Canadians receive approximately the same federal services. And QC is not the only province that receives money. And they pay very high provincial tax.
Canada is a reliable trade partner and a destination of choice for investment – including on agriculture, clean energy, and AI. I made that case to other leaders this week, when we came together for the @APEC Leaders’ Meeting. More on what we worked on: https://t.co/GW1CyYSnNJ
@cowling175 It started years ago. There’s a gentleman with Down-syndrome who started a sock company & PMJT bought & wore his socks to help grow his business. The Convoy party have a hard time digesting a kind-person story. It’s on YouTube. PMJT’s played with it ever since. 🇨🇦PMJT 2025 🇨🇦
