I had @grok summarize an incredible video. Blows my mind what a genius Steve Jobs was:
In June 1983, 28-year-old Steve Jobs spoke at the Aspen Design Conference. Few in the room owned a personal computer. He said “Uh-oh”… then spent 55 minutes outlining the next 40+ years of tech with eerie accuracy.

Key predictions that blew minds in hindsight:

- Apple’s goal: “An incredibly great computer in a book you can carry… learn in 20 min… with a radio link so no wires.” → iPhone/iPad + Wi-Fi/mobile internet (Mac not even out yet!)

- MIT truck photographing Aspen streets for virtual walkthroughs → Google Street View (24 yrs later)

- Office networking ~5 yrs away, home ~10-15 yrs → Internet/web mainstream mid-90s (~12 yrs spot-on)

- Software delivered over phone lines w/ free previews + credit card buys, like radio for sampling → App Store & iTunes (20-25 yrs ahead)

- Most striking now: Machines capturing a person’s “underlying spirit/way of looking at the world” so you could ask questions of them after death (50-100 yrs) → Today’s LLMs (ChatGPT/Grok etc.) simulate exactly that in ~40 yrs

Timelines? Always too optimistic. “Computer in a book” by late 80s? First try: 16-lb Macintosh Portable (1989). iPad: 2010. Voice recognition ~10 yrs? Siri: 2011.

Vision 100% right. Clock consistently wrong. Apple: ~$1B revenue, <5K employees then. Now: $3.7T+.

This “lost” talk (cassette found 2012, video out 2024) shows Jobs saw our world when almost no one else did. Mind-blowing foresight. Watch if you haven’t.
