#Leonardo’s Seaspray radar has been selected to support airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability for Australia’s Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Border Force.

Chosen by Metrea as part of the Aerial Surveillance Service programme, #Seaspray provides a proven Active Electronically Scanned Array radar capability designed for complex maritime and border security operations. Its ability to detect targets at long range, generate high‑resolution mapping and identify small, low‑signature objects supports effective monitoring of the maritime environment.

This announcement builds on Leonardo’s long‑standing partnership with Australia and our continued investment in advanced radar technology developed across our UK and Italy sites.

The UK #StormShroud autonomous collaborative platform is equipped with #BriteStorm, #Leonardo’s electronic warfare #DRFM payload, bringing stand in jamming to @RoyalAirForce operations in high threat environments.

The Royal Air Force has described #StormShroud as a new family of Autonomous Collaborative Platforms, operating alongside crewed platforms, such as Typhoon and F-35, with #BriteStorm helping to protect crews in contested environments.

Designed to confuse and suppress enemy air defence systems, #BriteStorm is intended to be deployed in support of high value capabilities and crewed combat aircraft, integrated on uncrewed platforms or launched effects to help provide spectrum superiority and freedom of action.

In this environment, defensive aids systems on fighters play a critical role. Not as isolated subsystems, but as fully integrated capabilities that combine sensing, decision making and countermeasures into a coherent whole.

Leonardo has unveiled Guardian Vantage, a new land-based Electronic Warfare (EW) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) capability which detects, recognises, identifies and locates enemy emissions on the battlefield. The system is designed for use on land vehicle and ships, or for mounting onto shelters.

Launched at AOC Europe 2026, Guardian Vantage provides real time battlefield intelligence on emitting enemy systems such as radars, uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) and communications. This information can then be exploited by friendly forces for surveillance and target acquisition, to ultimately understand who the enemy is, where they are and what they are doing.

#Leonardo has successfully demonstrated how its Open Digital Platform can enable uncrewed surface vessels to autonomously detect and respond to sub surface threats, helping operators make faster, better informed decisions.

Working with UK SME SubSea Craft, the platform was integrated into the #MARS uncrewed surface vehicle and its capability proven earlier this year during @DefenceHQ-led trials under the Atlantic Bastion programme in Portsmouth.

By autonomously coordinating sensors during anti-submarine warfare missions, the system reduces operator workload while delivering enhanced decision support to commanders, supporting the @RoyalNavy’s future vision of a hybrid, multi-domain force.
