Stop calling it a video game crash. That implies that it's like some sort of uncontrollable force of the market. You can't have a crash (at least in the U.S.) when the market was up 4% yoy in 2023. That's the opposite of a crash! This is execs mimicking growth by cutting costs.

@walaber Right I’d always wondered if there was away around it with something like unreal. I guess in those cases position and rotation recording would be best option. And I guess some interpolation between the different time step transforms

@walaber I had friends in college who tried to implement a ghost with their custom c++ physics engine. But it didn’t work because their engine wasn’t deterministic. I think they tried the input recording method

@walaber I have not viewed those videos but I’ll take a look! But I think showing how to implement different ghost methods would be super cool and informative! I’d watch for sure
