@Critical_Scribe @howlingwolfjoey I'd say that's the entire reason they decided to make her the protagonist of the new game. So they can show nuance, struggle, growth, etc.

They're trying something new that may or may not work. So far I've liked what they've put out, so I'm inclined to wait and see.

And posthumous characters are defined by their influence. The entire idea is for it to be felt, not seen.

The story isn't saying "look how much better Faye is than Kratos". She was introduced as a peer worthy of the God of War's respect.

@Critical_Scribe @howlingwolfjoey By that logic, every new character introduced in a sequel or in a new arc and equaled or outclassed the protagonist "came out of nowhere".

Broly, Yoda, Ciri, Trafalgar Law, Meruem... all "came out of nowhere".

To say it "has never felt great for any story" is disingenuous.
