Lea Milde here, for my last day of my GWC takeover. Today I want to introduce you to Germany’s largest predator: the grey seal (Halichoerus grypus). Grey seals are found on both shores of the Atlantic Ocean. They can weigh up to 300kg and reach up to 2.3m.
Heligoland’s “Big Five”: Hello everyone, Lea Milde here on the 3rd day of my GWC takeover.
Along the western cliffs of Heligoland, you can find Germany’s sole sea bird breeding rock. This spectacular breeding place has the highest breeding bird density in all of Germany.
Bird paradise: Hello everyone, Lea Milde here, for the 2nd day of my GWC takeover. In Central Europe, Heligoland is the place with the largest number of recorded bird species. More than 400 different bird species have already been recorded.
Hey everyone! My name is Lea Milde, one of the Girls Who Click ambassadors and I’ll be sharing my work with you this week. I’m a wildlife ecologist, conservationist, and self-taught nature photographer from Germany.
Gm! First little result from yesterday's birding tour with @lea_milde. Had some great sightings, including a group of Long-eared owls in an urban environment. Have you ever see an owl?🦉
A rise from extinction🦉
Ural Owls have been extinct for many years in Germany & Austria. Luckily, thanks to passionate conservation efforts & reintroduction programs these majestic owls are slowly returning to our woods.🦉
