Very positive first meeting with @AldiUK & @wfcouncil about our beautiful trees. Awaiting official confirmation of plan. We're very happy.

Hi @AldiUK you have a meeting with community next week. Will you pull the plug on your plans to destroy #LeaBridge Trees? @leabridgetrees

Neighbours 'horrified' after Aldi chops down mature trees containing birds and nests. We made the local news! https://t.co/jg3r8mywBe

[SaveLeaBridgeTrees @leabridgetrees]

It was a good afternoon when we got local residents down to the site with the local paper earlier this week. #saveourtrees #communityaction

We do not want any more of the trees to be felled. We need these trees. We love these trees. For many many reasons.

[SaveLeaBridgeTrees @leabridgetrees]

That's why us local residents have banded together to talk to Aldi (who are currently developing the site) and the local council about this.

[SaveLeaBridgeTrees @leabridgetrees]

And there are plans for the rest of them to go too.

[SaveLeaBridgeTrees @leabridgetrees]

But when work started at the end of last month the first thing to go were seven #trees along one side of the site.

[SaveLeaBridgeTrees @leabridgetrees]

Local residents were keen for the site to be functional again, and most excited about a #supermarket coming to the local area.

A borough implementing the #MiniHolland scheme to encourage walking, cycling, enjoyment of the local area, and in turn to #cleanupourair.
