NEW on SPEAK UP 🎙️: @Laurel_Libby sits down with two @ACLUMaine policy experts to discuss how a bipartisan coalition is protecting Mainers' Fourth Amendment rights from continued attempts to institute government surveillance.
Here's a question worth putting to your town council: How many Flock Safety cameras are in our town, did you vote on them, and did anyone ask the public?
The DeFlock map at https://t.co/iK961dTL22 is a crowdsourced tool that shows the camera network in any Maine town. If you spot a camera that's not on the map, you can report it directly through the site, which helps build the most complete picture of where this surveillance is spreading.
Laurel's conversation with the @ACLUMaine on Speak Up explains what the cameras actually collect, what Maine towns have done to push back, and what's at stake constitutionally.
"Maine is nearly dead last in what is arguably the most important category of them all. Then we wonder why so many young Mainers leave the state to start their careers elsewhere. Maine needs more opportunities across every industry because the current situation simply isn't sustainable."
Couldn't have said it better ourselves, @WBLM1029. Keep rocking and raising awareness!

Another TERRIBLE ranking for Maine... 48th best economy out of 51!
Nearly a decade of single-party Democrat rule has robbed Mainers of the opportunity to flourish. Mounting taxes, rules, and regulations are not a sustainable path to prosperity.
Why do you think we have the oldest population in the nation?
Because the policies passed by @govjanetmills and Augusta Democrats are driving our young people out of our state to greener economic pastures. It's time to trim Augusta down to size and put Mainers back in the driver's seat!
Maine's education system has real problems. About one in four fourth graders reads at grade level nationally... Maine's numbers are not an exception. Per-pupil spending has grown significantly over decades.
This is unacceptable. So, what are the Democrats running for governor going to do about it?
When an ad supporting one candidate was paid for in part by a school choice group, the others attacked him for it, and he promptly distanced himself.
That tells us a lot.
NONE of them are interested in giving parents more power over their kids' education, but that's the way out of this mess. Families know their kids much better than politicians and bureaucrats!
We need leaders who will empower families, not force them into a system that is failing their kids. If you agree, share this post with your friends!
If you won't be around next Tuesday, today is your LAST CHANCE to cast your ballot.
Head over to your town office before they close today, get your ballot in, and make your voice heard!

Maine ratepayers are already paying for the mountain of energy mandates @TroyJackson207 and other politicians forced on us over the years.
We've seen what those costs do to families' electricity bills.
Tell him we don't need any more mandates. Mainers need more reliable energy to truly lower costs!
This isn't good. Maine is dead-last in business applications per capita last year. 50th out of 50.
Our state's GDP growth was also weak in 2025, bottom of the pack of all states. Economic forecasts show very slow or flat job growth through the end of the decade as well.
Democrat leadership in Augusta has failed Maine people. But WE CAN turn it around!

"A population that feels its safety is threatened is often a population ready to give up its rights. The government will constantly use the justification of more safety to bring about fewer rights." ‒ Michael Kebede, @ACLUMaine
$382 million went to nursing homes through MaineCare last year.
DHHS has completed zero required cost reviews. ZERO! Since at least 2018.
UNACCEPTABLE!
Maine lawmakers are calling for a formal investigation into the Maine Community Foundation after alleging that millions of dollars donated for victims of the Lewiston mass shooting were diverted away from survivors and distributed to nonprofit organizations.
In a sharply worded letter to the Legislature’s Government Oversight Committee, lawmakers accused the foundation of possible deceptive practices, conflicts of interest and self-dealing in its handling of the Lewiston victims fund.

Not only are @Flock_Safety cameras potentially facilitating privacy and 4th Amendment violations, the way the cameras are installed on Maine roads could be dangerous!
@BrendanKeefe not all "Flock" cameras are actually from @Flock_Safety .
This dangerous installation is actually from @Moto
There's almost no independent verification of crashworthy installation practices.
