Videos filmed in the first days of the Gaza ceasefire have shown the extent of the destruction there as people return to places that have been no-go areas for months.
Israel will prevent Dr. Hussam Abu Safiye from meeting counsel for 12 more days and will keep him in jail till 13.2.25. This is the only confirmation that he is still alive. This is a crime at every level possible. Dr. Abu Safiye must be released immediately and unconditionally.
Why the ICC has issued a warrant for the arrest of Netanyahu and Gallant-
(A sobering read for those who have opposed a ceasefire).
- The Chamber considered that there are reasonable grounds to believe that both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity, from at least 8 October 2023 to 20 May 2024. This finding is based on the role of Mr Netanyahu and Mr Gallant in impeding humanitarian aid in violation of international humanitarian law
- The Chamber found reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Netanyahu and Mr Gallant bear criminal responsibility for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare.
- In addition, by intentionally limiting or preventing medical supplies and medicine from getting into Gaza, in particular anaesthetics and anaesthesia machines, the two individuals are also responsible for inflicting great suffering by means of inhumane acts on persons in need of treatment. Doctors were forced to operate on wounded persons and carry out amputations, including on children, without anaesthetics, and/or were forced to use inadequate and unsafe means to sedate patients, causing these persons extreme pain and suffering. This amounts to the crime against humanity of other inhumane acts.
- Finally, the Chamber assessed that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Netanyahu and Mr Gallant bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population of Gaza.
"Community self-defense is a piece of the larger work of building an equitable society, but it will only be truly realized if a larger mass movement confronts the entire system of structural inequity."

In my latest for @yesmagazine I talk with community self-defense groups, organizers, and historians about what it means to keep your community safe with threats mounting from all sides. Force can be part of it, but not as much as mutual aid and solidarity.
There hasn't actually been a major shift of young people to the right — this election mostly reflects a turnout collapse of young Democratic voters
When you account for turnout, Trump in '24 barely got a higher % of youth than when he lost last time
GAZA While their father went to collect the birth certificates for his two 4-day old twins, they along with their mother and grandmother were killed by an Israeli bomb.
“They were four days old, born into war, experienced only war, killed by war.” Zeteo’s @prem_thakker questions the State Department about the killing of two newborn twins in Gaza.

On these days, I was supposed to be walking the stage, graduating from college. Instead, I'm picking up bags of charred, dismembered bodies of women and children who were killed by Israeli occupation forces.
