Solo Leveling Is About To Make Anime History On May 23🔥

Solo Leveling took over the anime industry in 2025 when Season 2 of the series broke numerous major records across anime streaming platforms.

It then capped its generational run off by winning Crunchyroll's Anime of the Year award, upsetting Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and making Sung Jinwoo a household name. Last year was a truly historic moment for the Solo Leveling franchise, and it's once again set to make anime history in 2026.

A major reason anime fans were divided over Solo Leveling's big Anime of the Year win was that it technically won for Season 1 of the anime, which many fans felt was riding the coattails of Season 2's hype. Soon that debate will become irrelevant, because Solo Leveling Season 2 will now be eligible to win its own award for Crunchyroll's Anime of the Year on May 23, 2026.

When it does, it will be the first ever anime to win back-to-back Anime of the Year awards, making for a historic achievement that'll prove the Shadow Monarch's supremacy once and for all.
