@basedgizmo yeah i think obsession is a better film than companion. i really wasn’t a fan of the latter, felt really toothless and said nothing interesting. at least obsession had some good horror moments
@evanmgoodrich my dad showed me alien when i was about 10. i felt so excited to watch a “big person adult” film. incredibly formative, my dad was there to guide me through it, describing how everything was made. a child experiencing mature art ideally needs supervision to help comprehend it
@IWasShotInMyGut@KeyJay115 not to mention cillian murphy being involved. his character returning from 28 days is probably easier to market than new characters. idk im not a marketing person

@batcountry1980 cultural context about germany was interesting, the rest of the book was utter drivel. sickeningly grandiose descriptions of the band and their music. felt i was reading a 12 year olds blog at parts. most egregious part: had a ems synthi on cover-barely touched on their synths!
@KeyJay115 honestly more like the xx metronomy or m83, it’s ultimately just pop music. they’re well regarded in the UK at least, won a murcury prize. i think they’re too popular to be seen as underground but too illusive to be popular? idk i love them so much
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos argues that ‘BARBIE’ and ‘OPPENHEIMER’ would have been just as big on Netflix.
“There’s no reason to believe that the movie itself is better in any size of screen for all people. My son’s an editor, he watched ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ on his phone”
