Three NHL games tonight (two Canadian teams playing) and not one of them on national tv. Sportsnet has done a great job at helping Canadians decide to watch baseball
Christopher and Furio were both dangerous but they couldn’t have been more different.
Christopher wanted to prove he belonged. Furio didn’t need to prove anything.
Christopher relied on intimidation and ego, while Furio carried himself like a professional.
If Tony had to choose one of them to handle a serious problem alone, who would you trust more Christopher or Furio?
It's goddamn ridiculous the NHL has been on for 8 days & I think for half those days Sportsnet has had 0 games on any of their channels.
"Canada's hockey provider" my ass.
Wanna grow the game? Maybe put the games on TV to start!!
Garbage.
Jaromir Jagr: “I worked out so hard that summer. I thought, ‘Okay, this year I’m going to catch Mario'. " 👀
His training included 1,000 deep knee bends/bodyweight squats a day, lunges and side lunges, sprints and running, weighted-vest workouts, ankle-weight training both on and off the ice, medicine-ball exercises, hockey-stick resistance and cable exercises, weighted-puck shooting, resisted stickhandling, sled/resistance running, and extensive extra skating sessions 💪
"I came to camp, we got on the ice, and he was still twice as strong as me. He didn’t lift a single weight all summer, and I couldn’t even budge him. Mario hadn't skated all summer. I realized right then that some people are just born different.” ✨ 🪄
It’s pretty insane that it’s a pretty full slate tonight in the NHL & there is currently not one game available to watch on cable.
Not an uncommon occurrence, but still sad when you flip on the TV and can’t watch a single hockey game.
I’m sure the NHL is absolutely thrilled about their biggest Canadian partner blocking out every game on a random Tuesday to customers who don’t pay extra. Excellent way to grow the game.
A robot is cleaning rivers completely autonomously. 🌊
Meet Hebao H3, an autonomous surface-cleaning boat developed by Dongfang Water.
Using onboard AI vision and GPS, it can detect and collect floating waste such as plastic bags, bottles and leaves while avoiding obstacles.
When its collection bin is full, the H3 can automatically return to its base.
Would you trust robots to keep our rivers clean? 👀

Being 40 is kind of like the moment in Saving Private Ryan when Tom Hanks asks who’s in charge here, and the little homie soldier tells him “You are, sir!”
Paul Bissonnette says he was forced to turn into an AHL enforcer just to save his hockey career and make it to the NHL
"I was a pretty decent junior player. I was a defenseman... able to represent my country, playing U17 for Team Ontario and U18 for Team Canada... won gold both times, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins"
"Got in a little bit of trouble early on in my career... living on your own, probably was drinking and partying a little bit too much. So I started off my career in the ECHL, basically the lowest league, and slowly worked my way up".
"After getting into a little bit more trouble... thought my career was over. At that point, I was a defenseman, and they called me up to the AHL and said, 'We're going to make you a fourth-line fighter'"
"I had a decision to make... whether I wanted to do that or stay stubborn and stay as a defenseman. And I said, 'Fuck it, if this is my only path to maybe getting to the NHL, I'll do it'"
"So I started scrapping. I got beat up a lot. I had back-to-back seasons where I fought 30 times... guys at that time in the A were taking steroids, I was getting the shit kicked out of myself"
25 years ago today (October 6, 2001) "The Cold War" landmark outdoor ice hockey game took place between Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. Here's the introduction of Josh Blackburn and Ryan Miller and Gordie Howe doing the ceremonial puck drop.
