@HelenBranswell This is really fascinating. The lay public reads and hears a lot of these phrases and infer their own meanings. But the connotations of certain phrases give us guidance and maybe clarity.
@josh_uglyasf What if Megan rode a stallion? What if Lil had a baby? What if Donna sweated in the summer? What if Justin chopped timber by a lake? What if Tracy and a chap met a man? What if a boy was named George? What if the killer was Mike? What if Beyoncé’s land had Knowles on it?
@x_noge@landofthe80s That got on my feminist nerves! So I focused on Frye’s shenanigans. I don’t like shows making virginal Christian women look pathetically desperate. But Ms. Horsford took what the writers gave her and worked that role like the talented professional she is. Gotta respect that.
@MustangMan_TX This child reminds me a female presenting actor known for voicing a certain young female presenting yellow hued jaggle headed animated character.
And I’m likely not the first to suggest it, so I’ll avoid retagging this person.
@vgmac I was in St. Louis at a journalism conference (@IRE_NICAR?) with my boss. A bunch of us attendees were watching the white Bronco chase at a bar inside a mall. It was a surreal end to a nerve wracking day.
@HelenBranswell It was probably supposed to go out hours ago. Sometimes it takes all day to gather the internal info, numbers, quotes, etc. from people whose priority isn’t press releases. Outlets and sites with later deadlines can run it, and the comm pros can tell bosses they got it out today.
"Journalism has to be of use. Journalism has to be relevant. Journalism has to be beneficial. It can't just be bad news all the time, so we need to think about what we’re offering our audiences — is it helping them in their lives?" - Incoming CEO @kbmiami

@_Zennifer_@notcapnamerica I agree that there’s more to this. He’s a child, after all. And he’s desperate to get on that bus. I think he seriously wants to get away from, or get to, something that really matters to him, either positively or negatively.
