Soon, we are going to do our last summer field work of the project! Our summer program will include telemetry and our 6 lakes monitoring effort. Stay tuned for some fun days to come! @CanMountainNet
During our winter field work, we look at the entire alpine lake ecosystem, not just fish. We assess the physical aspect of the lake (e.g., temperature, nutrients), phytoplankton, zooplankton, and macro-invertebrates. @ThomasJourd@leah_strople@louisechavarie@lpcollin1
Welcome to @leah_strople who is starting her PhD today @UniNMBU! Leah's project is going to focus on Arctic charr, lake trout, and brook trout in alpine lakes. She is going to use fatty acids, isotopes, and accoustic telemetry to study food web rewiring in a changing world.🐟🫧
