The most ridiculous part of the developer session was the assertion that this parcel is just a retail center w/ no residential implications. I live literally 2 minutes’ walk from it & neighbors constantly walk to and from the shopping center - especially the Food Lion - all day.
Re: Ye Olde Lakewood Shoppes — feels like Brody Co. should just sell to someone willing to invest in a meaningful reimagining that would be aligned w/ the comprehensive plan (i.e. mixed use) if they’re unwilling to do so. Commercial rezoning would shut that door for the future.
As the United Democracy Project threatens to spend $100M in Democratic primaries this cycle, let's pull back the curtain on AIPAC.
What you'll find is a web of Trump megadonors, GOP billionaires, insurrectionists, & anti-abortion extremists.
Time for Democrats to #RejectAIPAC.

So let me tell you what I'm doing tomorrow.
I'm heading to Boone, North Carolina, the heart of Southern Appalachia, to help convene a conversation on the wreckage neoliberalism has wrought in rural America.
And how it's left many people feeling alone and angry.
Starting a separate thread, because this sort of conduct detailed by @LenaRoseGeller / @indyweek – the flamboyant misuse of government resources by elected officials – really should be prosecuted
