This afternoon HE the president inspected the Upgrading to Bitumen Standard of 15KM Cess(Nghonji)- Rekeke-Lake Jipe project

This road traverses through agricultural zones, improving the transportation of horticultural crops and livestock produces. It is also an access road to wildlife conservation areas which are the main tourist attractions in the area.

For communities around Lake Jipe where fishing is the main economic activity,this road is vital for the daily transportation of fish products to the nearby markets.

This project has also created job opportunities for the locals of Taveta constituency and its environs.

Construction of Enziu Bridge and Approach Roads Progress Update:

Today, the Director General, KeRRA, Eng. Jackson Magondu, visited the Enziu Bridge and Approach Roads Project in Mwingi, Kitui County, to assess the progress of ongoing construction works. Currently the physical progress stands at 70% marking a significant development towards the completion of this critical infrastructure.

During the site visit the Director General inspected the steel girders, which is a major milestone in the construction of the bridge. Once the installation of the steel girders and other superstructure elements is done that is expected to accelerate the remaining works and bring the project closer to completion.

The Bridge is expected to improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of people, goods and services for communities in Nguni, Muangeni, Mutyang’ombe, Kaai, Nuu and surrounding areas. KeRRA remains committed to ensuring timely completion of the project while ensuring quality, accountability in its service delivery.
