On design systems: simply having a component library is not enough. Designers and engineers need to adopt a common language. Without this, your component library will just become another cumbersome way to write CSS.

In many respects, Design Systems are to Design & Frontend Dev what DevOps is to Engineering & Ops. In the same vein, Design Systems can be understood as a larger approach or a culture rather than a (literal) technical system. At the very least, they are socio-technical systems.
