‘Ability, not disability’ - Launceston boy Justin Nilon is one of the most inspiring people out there. Hope you enjoy his story as much as I did... https://t.co/PAdAn7EDyz
Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting on a new e-Learning resource to support #VET staff in working with students with #disability at this years @NCVER#NoFrills2019 conference.
A valuable trip to Queenstown to talk to the Education and Training Advisory Committee about our experiences from the Community Learning Pathways Project. A project that explores how placed based learning reengages people in education @UTAS_
Easter Sunday spent in emergency with my 68 yr old mum who has dementia. Severe lacerations to her face after a fall that no one saw happen in her aged care facility. Why on earth we do not have patient carer ratios is beyond me #agedcarereform#dementia#respectourelderly

Congratulations to @NLCrawfordTas, @DarleneMcLennan and team for this essential resource. @UTAS_ is very lucky to have such passionate and knowledgeable practitioners such as yourselves.
Staff @UTAS_
our Inclusive Toolkit for YOU to support students with disability is now "live" on MyLO in 'staff devel. & training'. YAY!
Please dip in & out as you need for strategies, resources, videos (incl. @_RufusBlack on being an inclusive uni & dyslexia)
@DarleneMcLennan
Could not agree more. The report also states for this to be achieved by “an inclusively designed system with multiple entry and exit points; proactive removal of barriers to participation; and tailored support where needed”. Let’s make it happen. @DarleneMcLennan

Great place making workshop with @DEngwicht today. He really challenged my thinking with statements such as “masterplanning and community consultation are delay tactics for people who don’t want to make decisions”. It’s powerful to turn everything on its head. @CityLaunceston
Telling powerful stories of food justice for Northern Suburbs community of Launceston. Thankyou @DevitaDavison and our community champions. @LukeCraven@Alison_WardAPD@LeanneArnott https://t.co/S2u9B0G8VU via @ExaminerOnline
Amazing to hear from @DevitaDavison that Detroit has 1600 urban farms and about the incredible work of the @foodlabdetroit. My favourite quote today - "food based economies are very much about community". Congrats @sandymurray_ and team.
"What is a resource? What is waste?" Urban farming turns vacant waste land into a resource. Possibilities for Launceston. @DevitaDavison @LukeCraven@Alison_WardAPD@VintageTasmania
You've no doubt seen this image kicking around on the socials already, but this is all that's left of our beloved Tahune Airwalk. The visitor centre was saved, but the majority of its infrastructure has been lost. So devastating. #tasfires#tasmania
My friend got married last month and her dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses ALL HAD POCKETS.
And yes, we did use them for storing snacks, thank you for asking.
I had to place my father in dementia care today and drive away. I can only be there every couple of weeks so I taped this to his door. I want the staff to know who the new man in #14 truly is.
