It costs you your comfort to acknowledge your privilege.
It is uncomfortable to sit with your privilege.
Discomfort is not a good enough reason to not engage.
@maie_lynn In letting go the work does become meaningful. In the midst of participatory research project myself atm. You have to check in and be mindful of your privilege when doing the work.
@maie_lynn This means for you to pause and reflect immediately. In an ideal world problematic research methods should not have passed a robust up to date ethics process. Before that though it's the responsibility of researchers to check with community to identify issues before they submit.
