Learning about the positive impact of veggies on our body's physiology is way cooler when you can harvest a variety of vegetables from our school garden, planted by students last spring, to try later at home.
I can't stop smiling. The @leap_high graduation this evening was simply amazing. The inspiring stories and heartfelt words from students and staff, greetings in multiple languages, and families beaming with pride was a joy to witness. Congratulations and best wishes, with love ❤️
Congrats to all our 2021 graduates! It was an honor to be at your commencement last night to hear your words of wisdom and encouragement and to share in your moment of triumph. You are amazing humans and we wish you all the best!
Thanks to everyone who came to our garden open house today to see the work students have put into planning, researching, studying, and installing our new vegi garden spaces. Student hosts also prepared an interactive scavenger hunt in our rain garden. It was a beauty day!
LEAP's new grant funded garden beds are here! Containers arrived last week and science students made quick work of adding soil and mulch to the beds. Students have been prepping by learning about pH levels, calculating volume, graphing soil temp, and starting seeds in class.
Wing shared stories about his work and challenged students to share their thoughts to questions like, “What are you, how do you think about your identity, where is home to you?” Amazing experience.
Thanks to everyone who helped make our vaccine clinic a success yesterday! We were happy to have over 100 students and their family members get vaccinated by the awesome crew from the Minnesota Department of Health.
Today, LEAP High School is hosting a vaccination clinic for students and families. Extra vaccines are available until 4:30 on a first come first served basis for neighbors and community members. Registration can be done on site and health insurance is not required.
Never too old or too young to help our environment. In honor of Earth Day today, various students and staff at LEAP participated in outdoor classes, while others pitched in to help clean-up our school grounds and neighborhood.
