The Prophet ﷺ taught this powerful dua for seeking Allah’s protection from harm and sudden calamity.

Dua:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Roman Transliteration:

Bismillāhilladhī lā yaḍurru ma‘a ismihī shay’un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā’i wa Huwas-Samī‘ul-‘Alīm.

English Translation:

“In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm. And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever recites this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening will not be harmed by sudden calamity, by Allah’s permission.

Translation:

"O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the suffering and grant healing. You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing—a healing that leaves behind no illness."

The Prophet ﷺ said that Surah Al-Ikhlas is equivalent to one-third of the Quran. Reciting it three times carries the reward equivalent to reciting the entire Quran.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

🗣️ Pronunciation

Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm

Qul huwallāhu Aḥad.
Allāhus-Ṣamad.
Lam yalid wa lam yūlad.
Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan Aḥad.

📖 Translation

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

Say, "He is Allah, the One.
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
He neither begets nor is born.
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

Transliteration:

Subḥānaka Allāhumma wa biḥamdik, ashhadu an lā ilāha illā anta, astaghfiruka wa atūbu ilayk.

Translation:

"Glory is to You, O Allah, and all praise is Yours. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You." 🤍
