After openly endorsing genocidal Israel, the "strategically autonomous great power" India did not condemn or even mention the murder of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. It sent Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to sign the condolence book on March 5, five days after the death of Khamenei, and only when criticism mounted.

Now that contrary to Indian calculations the Islamic Republic of Iran has survived and perhaps emerged stronger, India has sent Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, accompanied by the EAM’s Joint Secretary for Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran, for Chehelum. Here too, the purported "great power" failed to mention whose Chehelum it was.
