Learner Workshop: Global Contexts
Learners put themselves in their teachers' shoes by designing projects. Learners picked a topic, such as art, food, or phones, and suggested projects using the Global Context and Explorations. #MYP#Learning
Thank you to everyone who attended the KICS IMYC Parent Workshop. For the 3-2-1 Bridge activity, we started the workshop with words such as mysterious and curious and ended with independent, self-management, growth, creativity, ownership and life skills. @The_IMYC
It is great to be back in the classroom! Going into the 'activities that never get old' box is creating lab groups using animal cards. What is the catch? Learners receive a card and have to find their group members by using the sound the animal makes. #iteachphysics#IBPhysics
During a synchronous lesson today, a learner private messaged me, โYou and your teenage brain lolโ after I explained why mnemonics are helpful. Iโll chalk that up as a win!
Check out Lee Hendricks latest blog to learn about the research behind the International Middle Years Curriculum and the importance of teaching IMPART to students.

Hello #EduTwitter! I remember seeing people posting about collaborative/group tests. If you have done this, would love to hear the logistics! #iTeachPhysics
Has anyone read the Quantum Physics/ Realitivity/Astrophysics for Babies by Chris Ferrie or My First Book of Quantum Physics by Sheddad Kaid-Sala Ferron? Interested in your thoughts if you have read these! #iteachphysics#edutwitter
I tried this as a question in an Exit Ticket with Year 12s. Learned that a student hates fruit and another had cheese for breakfast. It was great! #iteachphysics
We have started our last @the_IMYC Exit Point of the academic year!
Each year group participated in a Google Hangout to share how their subject learning connects to the Big Idea, review the daily tasks and discuss possible topics!
#ExitPoints
Learners were working through a resolution question when I heard โOh! This is so cool.โ I asked why and they responsed, โWe are using previous knowledge from other sub-topics to solve these questions!โ So happy and genuine. #iteachphysics
@calhart11 Cool, right? He is investigating โHow does the diameter of a spring impact the spring constant?โ It is a neat process with lots of learning and application of problem solving skills.
It is IA season! It is a dream having 14 different investigations going on. The genuine interest in each otherโs approach and data analysis has been great to watch. #iteachphysics
Our IMYC area of the library is here! Students have been posing questions and posting notes on different books. Plus, we have sections dedicated to our current Big Ideas! #librarylife@The_IMYC@KICSSeniors
