I attended my first @StriveTogether convening and it completely blew me away. The biggest takeaway was that there are ppl all across this nation who care about the academic outcomes of children who are underserved and often forgotten about. The path from cradle to career matters!

D2 Volunteers,
I am so proud to be a part of the D2 Family.
That statement has never more true than after what I have seen over the last few days at Shoally Creek Elementary and across our district.
Beginning on Monday, we opened up the cafeteria at SCE to begin serving hot meals for our community. Despite, many being without power, having debris and fallen trees at your own home, and with many roads still in rough shape, volunteers poured in to help. No one made you come, but your heart for service compelled you to put your own needs aside for the sake of others.
To our D2 Employees, while amazing to see, this outpouring of selflessness is not surprising given what you have chosen to do for your life’s work. Every day you serve others in your schools and buildings, it is just part of who you are. #D2DifferenceMakers To members of the community that either showed up to help or donated supplies and goods, we are so thankful to live in a community where Difference Makers like you live, work, and learn.
A special thank you goes out to our partners @ChartwellsK12 and the Food Service team. Preparing so much delicious food so quickly and with so many hurdles, was not an easy accomplishment. We are thankful that you are our partners in education.
And I am thankful for all of you, and I am certain the more than 7500 people that received a meal at SCE are also grateful for your kindness.
Eternally Grateful,
Lance Radford, Superintendent
