@joe_sheehan It’s actually crazy how little the journalists who cover the sport know about the sport.
Manfred is 100% right and every wanna-be academic who disagrees with him hasn’t done the research. They’re all fed the same line by the same bullshit politicians and they swallow it. Gross.
@ssssusej@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult He’s not saying God is real, he’s saying Jesus is Christ. Paul already knew God was real; he was a Jewish Pharisee in Jerusalem. His conversion was Jesus revealing to him that he is the one true God.
@StrayCa88419236 You’re on the lowest rung of atheism with this infantile argument, you know that right? Like, this is 2003 and once again new atheism at its lowest point. You might want to get a bit more sophisticated in the debate before doing this.
@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult That’s not what that passage is talking about at all, are you sure you got that right? Paul is telling them why he didn’t preach to people using impressive sounding arguments or persuasive styles. Just before that (2:2) is perhaps my favorite verse in all of holy scripture.
@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult That’s backwards. Belief in Jesus CAUSES the subsequent and increasingly righteous actions of a believer; the work of the Holy Spirit on his heart to be like Christ. God doesn’t need proof, he knows if you believe.
Salvation is by faith alone, period. You can’t do enough good.
@ssssusej@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult I guess it depends what you mean by possible. God can do anything he wants that isn’t logically impossible or against his own nature. So in that sense, yes it’s possible Jesus could appear to you. Because we know he’s appeared to other people and we know he’ll return to conquer.
@ssssusej@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult What’s the difference? Whether he appeared to Paul in the flesh or some other unexplainable, visual way; both prove he was God and resurrected, don’t they?
@ssssusej@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult They were all devout Jews, like Jesus, who were terrified of being killed like Jesus was by the Jewish authorities. They were hiding. The disciples didn’t understand who Jesus was until AFTER he resurrected; it’s what proved he was God. Only God could resurrect life from death.
@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult “Make DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, son, and the Holy Spirit and teaching them TO OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU”.
Please, Repent. The kingdom of God is at hand.
@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult Well there you have it, as you just admitted; you’re not a disciple of Christ. Simply not a Christian. Why don’t you follow Jesus command?
@SSimpsonrose@ssssusej@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult Objective facts of history are events which occurred. It doesn’t matter if one believes it or not. It either happened or it didn’t. We have undeniable historical proof that it did, zero proof that it didn’t, and no other possible explanation for the existence of Christianity
@ssssusej@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult They all told us they saw him, they had no motive to lie (the opposite; they were killed for saying it), w heaven historical evidence for the empty tomb. Why do you not believe?
@ssssusej@SSimpsonrose@armanwalker @SusanRev @BeatTheCult That’s because Jesus appeared to Paul later on after the disciples began spreading the gospel. Paul was tasked with hunting Jesus’ disciples in Damascus and Jill them for blasphemy. Jesus appeared to him and, immediately, Paul became a believer. It’s pretty clear it happened.
