That's not entirely accurate. Several African countries also provide certain legal rights or protections for LGBTQ+ people, although to varying degrees :
• Botswana decriminalized consensual same-sex relations between adults in 2019.
• Mozambique decriminalized same-sex relations in 2015.
• Angola repealed colonial-era laws criminalizing same-sex relations and introduced anti-discrimination protections.
• Seychelles decriminalized same-sex relations in 2016.
• Cape Verde does not criminalize same-sex relations and provides some legal protections against discrimination.
