Interesting time at @BritOrthopaedic Council providing the @scotorth update and discussing problems facing UK orthopaedics, followed by dinner with @deboraheastwood , BOA Council and TPDs at @RCSnews, which has undergone an amazing rebuilding process.
Fife Virtual Hand Clinic is celebrating 100 000 hits since we went live in March 2020 before lockdown. 60 information pages written for patients. Check out our latest!!!! #orthotwittter#dupuytren

The methodology behind the Scottish @P_H_S_Official waiting times public information is deeply flawed and patients’ expectations being misled. The new outpatient data for my local board shows a median time of 3 weeks which is impossible. https://t.co/3afOP7yVHi
"My biggest problem with the cult of grit is that it takes social problems like racism, child abuse, and violence, and places the responsibility to deal with them onto the backs of individuals."

We put patients in charge of their follow up with information from our website and backup with this card. On demand review as required - no unnecessary appointments! #orthotwitter @StirlingOrtho @Ortho_Cherry@BSSHand
Writing isn't what you do after you have an idea. It's how you develop an inkling into an insight.
Turning thoughts into words sharpens reasoning. What's fuzzy in your head is clear on the page.
"I'm not a writer" shouldn't stop you from writing. Writing is a tool for thinking.
"I lost close NHS colleagues and friends to covid, watched many more become sick from it, and saw the daily impact of covid care on the staff I worked alongside."

Great to see our sister clinic in Aberdeen presenting in London. All Fife / Aberdeen information sheets available online, and free! If you want your own sister website DM us to copy the site, adapt for your local service.
@homomediocritus @StirlingOrtho @DrDavidRing@DuckworthOrthEd@CJSimpson94@fifehandclinic@BoneJoint360 All systems and processes have risk. Patients who DNA a scan are labelled non-attenders - potentially a high risk group. Our patients have open access and clear information. They look after their own injury, and if they feel uncomfortable, they access the service.
Just finished 'Zero' from @jeremy_hunt. A surprisingly comprehensive and mature account of the issues facing our NHS, with a great challenge associated with it - can we reduce harm to ZERO.
Good reading for all Doctors, Nurses and Managers.

@homomediocritus Agreed. But what is the clinical relevance of this fracture group?
Can you point me in the direction of good evidence of the natural history and outcome of an undetected fracture that is initially not visible on plain x-ray? @jmceachan@LechRymaszewski@DrDavidRing
I really enjoyed talking through the virtual scaphoid pathway with Dr David Ring. He is hugely insightful always worth listening to. I wish I had his eloquence of articulation!
