One of the most talented actors to ever grace the screen.
A Shakespearean actor by training, he brought a certain grandiosity and splendor to his roles, something rarely seen in Hollywood.
Of course we all know him for his role on Star Trek Enterprise, where he had to fill the shoes of Captain Kirk. He not only stood in his place, he outperformed him. Captain Picard was written well but his actor, Patrick Stewart, is why he is remembered. He played Pickard in over 100 episodes of TNG and he became a familiar face in households across the world.
Stewart did not allow himself to be typecast like many Trek alumni. He had an exceedingly impressive television and film career spanning everything from comedy to tragedy as well as a voice over roles in video games and animated shows.
He will be missed.
Godspeed you, bald emperor!
