🚨BREAKING: Bitcoin's BIP-110 soft fork OFFICIALLY FAILS after mining just two blocks.

The minority chain split off at block 961,632 with just 2.53% miner support.

It stalled behind the main chain almost immediately.

The fork inherited Bitcoin's full 127.48 TRILLION mining difficulty with almost none of the computing power.

Its next difficulty adjustment is 350 days away, per CoinDesk.

What is BIP-110?

- A proposal to restrict non-financial data on Bitcoin for one year, including images, text, and Ordinals-style inscriptions.

- Supporters led by Bitcoin Knots creator Luke Dashjr argue these transactions clog the network and drive up fees.

- Michael Saylor said BIP-110 will "stall or fork into irrelevance while Bitcoin continues normally."

- Fork supporters are already discussing switching to a new proof-of-work algorithm, which would make it a new coin entirely.

It needed 55% miner support to activate but only got 2.53%.
