Steve Nash led the NBA in two categories:
1. Assists
2. Touches
239 'Touches' Per Game! What is a touch?
- High Five
- Fist bump
- Pat on the back
His Teams won, and an NBA Study validated the power of 'touches.'
Lead your team in touches this season!
"To be excellent there is a cost to pay that almost all others are unwilling to pay. That's the excellence tax and it's a lonely club that leaves you with few real friends."
This never gets old!
A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.” The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?” The boy takes the quarters and leaves. “What did I tell you?” said the barber. “That kid never learns!”
Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. “Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?” The boy licked his cone and replied, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!”
When God gives you a dream or a vision, He puts a promise in your heart, it doesn’t mean it’s going to come to pass with no opposition. There will be things you don’t understand. In those tough times, you have to remember your dream. God will take care of you!
You can see something 10,000 times on your phone, but never understand it until you see it in person for the first time.
That’s the lesson from the park bench scene in Good Will Hunting.
Matt Damon is the arrogant, book-smart intellectual who’s seen little but read everything. Robin Williams is the wise professor who rolls his eyes at Damon’s hubris. The stuff of life can only be fully absorbed through direct experience, he says.
This is one reason why school falls short. It conflates regurgitation for understanding.
Shakespeare’s plays have been reduced to bite-sized cramming on SparkNotes and exam questions the following day. Or, take entrepreneurship, where certain kinds of wisdom can only be gained in the trenches of a sales call or when you have to fire the executive you swore was going to save your company.
Travel, too.
Something about the Golden Gate Bridge can only be understood when you feel the Pacific Ocean wind and shiver under a blanket of fog. Something about the life of Moses can only be understood when you stand atop Mount Nebo (where he died) and look down at the Promised Land of Israel. Something about Italian food can only be understood when you slurp “siero” in a Parmesan cheese factory and meet the 4th-generation shop owner.
Pixels on a screen aren’t enough.
Get out and Do the Thing because certain kinds of knowledge can only be gained through tactile, first-hand experience.

This is synonymous with building a team in business. It’s why if players can “get it and understand it” they also develop successfully and transition into next stage life after sports.
For 25 years, House of Pain's 'Jump Around' has been one of the best traditions at @BadgerFootball and in college football.
Until this season, Everlast had never experienced it in person.
