Really excited to announce Root Ventures Fund 4, our new $190M seed fund supporting technical founders working on hard problems with up to $5M at any stage with “seed” in the title.
We are so grateful to @EricNewcomer for perfectly capturing our vibe in his article below: 👇
Y Combinator is a supposed champion of “Little Tech” but perhaps they’re nothing more than a front for the far left.
I’m deeply uncomfortable with wealthy investors attacking American workers like this. I’m afraid it’s increasingly obvious to many people that individuals such as this guy do not have the best interests of America and her citizens in mind.
The purpose of the American economy is to promote the general welfare of American workers, not provide jobs for the rest of the world.
@AFergusonFTC Private industry is not a jobs program. It also exists to create goods and services at the highest quality and best prices while continuously innovating.
Jobs for workers is one goal. It’s not the only goal. This woke right nonsense could have come out of Bernie Sanders’ mouth.
Rent control can’t fix the housing crisis but what it can do is make rent cheaper for a few people at the larger systemic expense of the housing supply.
So, to the selfish few, this is a fair trade.
But not to people who want to make the systemic improvement.
Many such cases.
After learning last week that @sfbos had unanimously voted to appoint a felon-kidnapper-rapist as an @sfgov commissioner, I indexed every Supervisor vote and meeting for easier searching:

Manny has spent a decade investing in District 8: operating a small business, organizing street festivals and night markets, and cleaning up neighborhood streets.
He wants to build 10,000 homes, fully staff SFPD, and fill every vacant storefront. We endorse Manny for Supervisor.
For years, @GrowSF has focused on the local races that are critical to San Francisco’s future but rarely get the attention they deserve.
This November, we’re running a major campaign to elect Manny in District 8. We need your help to win. Donate today.

I love when a contract of a type that is usually very standard includes some weird nonstandard language that basically reveals a specific way the other party has been burned in the past.
Streisand Effect but for legal.
Honestly how do people see stuff like this and think technology was a mistake? There is no permanence for this boy’s special interest save the magic of the internet.
