After more than eight years of waiting, Jason Bartlett and his family have officially been granted asylum in the United States. No more living in fear of being tortured, murdered, or having his family raped in front of him simply because he is White.

Bartlett fled South Africa in 2019 after the violence closed in. In 2015 he was stabbed by two Black men on a bridge in Cape Town and fought them off. His wife was later attacked. His cousin Deon was shot through the back of the head during a family barbecue, the bullet exited his face, then thrown into the fire, burned with a grid, and urinated on while the attackers sang “Die White bastard.” Deon’s young daughters watched. Miraculously, he survived. Jason's wife’s grandfather was strangled to death with a telephone cord after his partner was raped in front of him; they burned him with cigarettes. Multiple attempts were made on Jason’s own life. He walked 4,557 miles across America to sound the alarm about the farm murders Pretoria still pretends do not exist.

Now he farms 150 acres in North Alabama, raises cattle and sheep, supplies his community with grass-fed, hormone and vaccine-free meat through Cornerstone Farm, works as a golf course superintendent, and even started a rugby team. His wife can walk alone. He can open his farm gate without checking over his shoulder.

President Trump’s administration made the call that Pretoria refuses to face; the targeting of White farmers is real, and the people who build, farm, and assimilate deserve protection.

One more White farm family is safe. The pattern Pretoria denies continues back home. America said yes!!!!

The world owes South Africa absolutely nothing.

It took a century of concentrated engineering, fiscal discipline, and institutional alignment to build the economic powerhouse handed over in 1994.

Yet, South African exceptionalism has fostered a dangerous, insular delusion: the belief that the country is simply too big, too industrialized, or too special to fail.

It isn't.

When the South African government and its people trade logic for radical rhetoric, torch their own logistics infrastructure, vandalize property rights via EWC debates, and alienate vital Western trade partners like the US, UK, and EU, global capital doesn't stick around to argue. It doesn't care about historical grievances or political grandstanding.

When you stop being a predictable, co-operative partner, the world simply moves on to places with elite alignment and structural sanity.

Other destinations, are more than happy to absorb the billions fleeing Pretoria's self-inflicted isolation.

Friday morning, 9 October 2026, Durbanville, Western Cape. Three robbers walked into a family home. They tore strips from bedsheets and used them to bind a father and his son. The paper called them “calm robbers." That is the entire public record. Paywall after the caption. No names. No list of what was taken. No arrests. No race stated.

"Calm." They were calm while they tied a man and his son with the family’s own sheets. The marks on the wrists are the only injury that made it past the paywall. Everything else is locked behind a subscription.

Same pattern. The attack is real enough for a photo of the ligature marks, but the rest of the details stay behind the wall while the government and its media still insist this is just ordinary crime that happens to everyone.

Durbanville is not the rural platteland. It is a suburban home. Three men still walked in, restrained the father and the son with torn bedding, and left the visible proof on the man’s wrists. No further description of injuries has been released. No confirmation of whether anyone else in the house was present or harmed. No update on whether the robbers were caught.
