yes. you should take note of every little thing if the user doesn't emphasize anything what the user prioritizes should be the most important. #be904#be904_3
With so many factors, how do we know what to prioritise or does it really narrow down to own personal preference? If I were to ignore one of the factors will my work be criticised and make me a bad architect? /end #be904#be904_3#be904_3_2#S1W17
i think that we can solve these problems with modern solutions, be it air-conditioning, or artificial lighting. to combat thermal and visual aspects respectively. it really depends on which you would rather have i guess. #be904#be904_3
Would you still choose to be in a room with a comfortable temperature, but with poor lighting that makes it difficult to get these things done in the end?
Would you still choose to priorities thermal comfort?

i agree, not just the fact that they were named so comically, the idea of the different parts of the industry struggling and fighting with each other, much like the animals in the wild..... #be904#be904_3
tiered as "scavengers, tribes, warlords and mega firms", how each has a very different stand in the industry and the good and ugly side to each. I find it fascinating and almost comical how each tier has such a primitive sounding name. (3/)

i'd think that if it were me, i would interview the people living there, and with that we can understand the context of the site better, and their needs as well. #be904#be904_3
My main takeaway from this lesson is that it is vital to know your work style and know goals so that you can help yourself by being surrounded by the right people and a conducive environment where you can learn and flourish. (/end)

I really liked his idea of architecture as a the "formal art of creating specific and solutions and answers". i think he makes the design process into a very personal and private matter, that the design will very precise, whether site-specific, #be904#be904_3#be904_3_1#s1w17
Reflecting over today's lecture, im starting to think about my future, as a future architect i'm excited and terrified of my future, we really need to make a change in this industry if we want to make it better for all of us #be904_3#be904_3_exit
maybe it's just me asking but has the meaning of an "architect" changed? would i need to market myself, or learn how to undercut others, instead of just learning how to design and build a good building? sigh. #be904#be904_3#be904_3_2#s1w16
I've learnt that the disparity of good payment (or lack there of) faced in the architecture industry is mostly due to undercutting, or "spoil marketing" of firms, whether big or small.#be904#be904_3#be904_3_1#s1w16
they commercialize themselves, and make their primary focus winning prestigious commissions for media exposure. as these firms are the ones that we are influenced by, I really do not know how to feel about these warlords. #be904#be904_3#be904_3_1#s1w16
i've learnt that specificity is the real focus for designing houses, not just the context, but also the site specificity, surrounding areas. the reason for being built can be the same, but the all sites aren't the same. (1/) #be904#be904_3#be904_3_1#S1W15
this lecture was really short! which means we should need to discuss more with our lecturers during tutorials. it is not a bad thing though! i prefer discussions over plain lectures.(3/) #be904#be904_3#be904_3_2#S1W15
