This is exactly why I asked the question. Dammed if you do, damned if you don't. The RFU needs to swallow pride though in my opinion and if wanting instant results, allow those playing overseas to still play for England.

Looking forward to watching England A and seeing what they can do. We are at a real crossroads for the senior side now. For the next 2 years, do we accept some heavy defeats but build an expansive game? Or is getting the W on the board more important?

@Mr_Riches_Yr3 Whilst I agree with you, take the time to create an identity and a system etc. I'm not entirely sure the public or the RFU are patient enough to go "take your time, don't worry if we ship 40 against South Africa. As long as we're playing in the right way."

After reading social media comments about Six Nations and referee documentaries, is it any wonder why many are either calling time on international careers or chosing to play in a different country? Yes, the game here needs a massive overhaul but nobody needs helmets like that.
